Frontken transfers from MESDAQ to Main Board of Bursa Malaysia
Frontken has received approval from the Securities Commission to transfer its listing from the MESDAQ market to the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd. As part of the transfer exercise, Frontken has proposed a 2-for-5 bonus issue of up to 209 million new ordinary shares of 10 sen each to be credited as fully paid up.

Alliance with Carboline / 40pc Growth in 2008
Frontken has signed business alliance with Carboline Group, a US based protective coatings manufacturer. The alliance is expected to enable the company to offer higher margin services and broaden its customer base. Tie-up with Balazs NanoAnalysis
Frontken has established a strategic partnership with Balazs Nanoanalysis, a unit of Air Liquide Electronics, to provide nano-level contamination control services for the advanced microelectronics and process industries in South East Asia and Taiwan. Frontken to assume full control of Kuching Plant
Frontken Corporation Bhd has proposed to acquire the remaining 41.88% stake in Frontken-AMT Engineering Sdn Bhd (FAMT) it does not already own for RM2.55 million. The Kuching plant posted 50% compounded annual growth from 2004 to 2007 and contributed 7% to group revenues in FY2007. Frontken said pursuant to the proposal, its Kuching plant, under FAMT would focus its efforts on growing its customer base particularly in the oil and gas sector.

Frontken Singapore Pte Ltd will invest US$6.8mil
(RM21.76 million) to set up a service plant
in the Iskandar Development Region (IDR)
in Johor. The plant, with a built-up area of 28,162 sq
ft in Nusa Cemerlang Industrial Park, is expected to start operations by the
end of 2008. The plant will serve the oil and gas industry.

Frontken raises stake in Ares to 42.11%
Frontken Corporation Bhd has increased its stake in Ares Green Technology Corporation by 9.75% bringing its total equity-stake to 42.11%.
Frontken said in a statement yesterday that it had signed an agreement with Evergreen Development Corporation and Green Steel Structure Corp to purchase 2.9million shares of NT$10 each in Ares for NT108.2 milion (RM 11.44million) cash. "We believe that this acquisition opens gateway for Frontken to tap into and also actively participate in the high growth prospects in this region" said Frontken executive chairman-cum-managing director Willie Wong.
Ares reported a pre-tax profit of NT$152.9 million on revenue of NT$604.9 million for last financial year (FY06). According to the statement, the Semiconductor Industry Association said the prospects for the global semi-conductor industry remained 'bright' due to high demand.
